Abstract
Attendance in early childhood education programs is an area of interest to education specialists and school stakeholders, as it has been observed that school attendance has an effect on students’ academic progress in their future elementary school years. As noted by Ansari and Gottfried (2020), the earliest years of schooling are critical for setting children up for success, and these are the years during which children miss the most days of school. At Sycamore Primary Center, there has been low attendance compared to districtwide attendance; in addition to this, students in the special education program have a higher percentage of absences compared to the general education students. Through an implementation plan, school staff and stakeholders will work collaboratively on the main goal; to increase student attendance at Sycamore Primary Center.
