Abstract
An effective, well-structured system of support for behavior provides a consistent school environment for children to learn. When there is not that structure in place, the potential for bias and uneven discipline may occur, which often disproportionately affects students from minoritized backgrounds. This capstone project is designed to lay out the process for implementing a system for behavior with fidelity, based on the tenets of PBIS and effective MTSS-B. It incorporates the frameworks from the literature on best practices, and it is designed to account for the mental health of students with a focus on equity. The expected outcomes are a decrease in exclusionary practices with an increase in positive supports and improved mental health outcomes for all students.
