Abstract
This capstone paper examines the implications of integrating a trauma-informed approach into current collaborative practices between public schools and culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) families with children who have identified or suspected disabilities in the context of special education programming. The analysis includes a review of the demographics of a local Illinois public school serving an underserved community, an evaluation of its existing collaborative practices, and the development of an action plan to enhance these practices. The proposed action plan is grounded in evidence-based research to support effective and sustainable implementation.
