Abstract

As life expectancy increases worldwide, the healthcare system is forced to adapt and change. Vietnam and Italy in particular are struggling to balance traditional values with the newfound needs of an older and larger population. Through interviews with geriatricians, this research project addresses the changes and developments in the geriatric healthcare systems of Italy and Vietnam. It sheds light on key cultural and social factors affecting geriatric healthcare such as accessibility.
