Abstract

My research focuses on predictive trends and insights that can be found through analyzing Chicago’s crime data. This research focuses particularly on the ways in which geography and other factors can be predictive of whether or not an arrest takes place. My results demonstrated that proximity to Lake Michigan plays a key role in deciding whether or not an arrest takes place, and different police districts have significantly different arrest rates.
