Abstract

In the Biblical narrative within Genesis 2-3, it retells the disobedience and fall of mankind from the Garden of Eden. There are many interpretations of what this narrative is believed to recount but one of the most influential is Augustine. His interpretation has had wide repercussions and impact on how the views of women in the Church, derived from Eve and Genesis. This project is an exploration of Augustine’s role on the views of women, through Eve, and how the television show Lucifer pushes back on that image and provides a different portrayal of Eve, and women in general.
