Abstract

The Philippines is one of the top producers of ocean plastic globally. Plastic pollution can collect terrestrially and then run off into waterways. The problem is a compounded result of poor waste management systems and accessibility to single-use plastic options. Not only is plastic pollution an environmental issue, but it is also a public health issue.
