Abstract

This presentation details the principles of environmental racism and explores its impacts in Chicago. Throughout this city, the south and west sides are consistently bombarded by the presence of institutions which desecrate the local environments, thus leading to poorer health outcomes in these historically marginalized communities. This presentation further explores this through its examination of the presence of Southside Recycling in Chicago's most overlooked region.
