Abstract

In the summer of 2023, I obtained an Illinois State Police Criminal Investigations internship. I shadowed special agents to investigate crimes such as homicide, sexual assault, human trafficking, child pornography, vehicle theft, fraud, forgery, and more. For the purpose of identification, apprehension, and prosecution of criminals, I gathered information and evidence to build cases. I worked a homicide case, attended an autopsy, reviewed surveillance, handled and tested evidence, and more. I am excited for my future in this field, as I have been able to solidify my passion for solving cases to help victims find the justice they deserve.
