Abstract
Chicago has received an influx of over 34,000 migrants bused from Texas since August 31st 2022. While the city’s Welcoming City Ordinance has been in effect since 2021, many Chicago residents are unhappy with the reception of these migrants. This study fielded a web-based survey of respondents recruited to form a representative sample of Cook County residents, asking how they feel about the busing of immigrants to Chicago, what they think should be done to assist these migrants, and how aid for these migrants affects those already in need in Chicago.
