Abstract

My project aims to evaluate the differences in viewpoints between Jehovah’s Witnesses and healthcare workers specifically in their refusal to donate or receive blood products. I believe that this topic can both validate the use of the NOMA principle due to the Jehovah’s Witnesses literal interpretation of certain Bible verses but also demonstrate what a NOMA violation would look like as demonstrated by the ethical, legal, and autonomic conflict shown in the articles in which the wishes of a Jehovah’s Witness to receive blood products and the requirement for the healthcare worker to abide by their wishes and potentially watch them die.
