Abstract

The effectiveness of evolution education depends on limiting teacher discretion when it conflicts with scientific standards. Schools could mitigate creationist influences by promoting standardized, evidence-based science education while encouraging teachers to adopt neutral stances on non-scientific beliefs in their classrooms.
