Abstract

The Longevity Gap refers to the intriguing difference in life expectancy between males and females. In C. elegans, XX chromosome animals live longer than those with XO chromosomes. This study examines if XOL-1, the protein that acts as the master regulator of sex determination, is involved in this difference in aging.
