Abstract
As a part of Loyola’s Washington DC Internship Program, I interned at Public Citizen, a progressive consumer advocacy organization, in their Global Trade Watch (GTW) division. My work primarily focused on the USMCA trade agreement. At GTW, I conducted research, wrote memos, and attended trade-related events with the purpose of advocating for greater labor rights and environmental sustainability provisions in the USMCA agreement. This presentation will showcase what I have learned from my internship experience in Washington, DC, as well as summarize key findings from my internship course research paper on the NAFTA and USMCA trade agreements.
