Abstract

Who is interested in participating in participatory budgeting? I hypothesized that people's perceptions of the quality of their neighborhood would affect their inclination to participate in PB. Are people self-interested and looking for ways to improve neighborhood conditions, or will the time-consuming process deter people from participating? My research examines this relationship as well as other factors that may be at play.
