Abstract

Only a few decades ago, asthma and allergies were not common diseases. Today, they’ve come to affect a large part of the population in many regions, thereby becoming a critical health issue around the globe. Evidence that corroborates pollution’s effect on asthma and allergies has been accumulating for years, most specifically validating pollution as a co-adjuvant to IgE and the body’s inflammatory response. Therefore, scientists have shifted their focus to explore exposure to environmental pollutants in the air, both indoors and outdoors, as the main cause of the increase in asthma and allergies.
